Brighton's Mother Royale
For Mother's Day, we asked our Mother-in-Chief, Production Manager Jude (and our founder Kathy's mum) for her favourite cocktail. I swapped out an ingredient and added beautiful blood orange (check at your local indie greengrocer's but you can also use ready made blood orange juice from the carton).
Get shaking, this is a wonderful little treat for your/someone else's mum.

*Did you know, we have just won Gold Outstanding at the International Wine & Spirits Competition - only 22 gins worldwide received that honour!
How to Make
To make honey syrup, mix 2 parts honey to 1 part boiling water in a little jar, let dissolve and cool down.
Put your favourite coupe glass into the freezer (a Nick & Nora is nice, or even a martini glass to be honest).Add all your tasty ingredients into a Boston shaker and shake over ice for around 10-15 seconds. Fine strain into the chilled glass - this is the way to drink it straight up! It will be boozy, and have taken on the most amazing vibrant colour thanks to the blood orange!
However, you can also go "Royale": fine strain your drink into a flute/champagne glass and top up with English sparkling wine (there are LOTS of superb options in Sussex alone!)
Voilà! A well balanced, refreshing (and very pretty) cocktail for Mother's Day!
