Brighton Bobby Burns

Burns Night is all about Scotch, neeps & tatties, and poems, of course. We have adapted a classic Burns Night cocktail, the 'Bobby Burns', and given it a Seaside twist! It's extremely delicious!

Brighton Gin Bobby Burns Cocktail

The evening of January 25th is when Scots (and others!) everywhere hold Burns Suppers in honour of the birth of Scotland's favourite poet and son, Robert Burns. Born on this day in 1759, one of seven children, he is most famous for writing the New Year favourite Auld Lang Syne.

One of our favourite part is when everybody gives his haggis poems a go, including best Scottish accent of course.

To help you feel confident when addressing the haggis (or recite the reply from the lassies), here is a bit of help from our friend Lesley Hart to get you started.

  • 50ml Scotch, single malt (we love - amongst others - Glenfarclas, Edradour or Arran)
  • 30ml red vermouth, we used El Bandarra
  • 15ml Brighton Gin Seaside Strength
  • 2 dash orange bitters

How to Make

Stir all cocktail ingredients over ice in a mixing glass/big jar. Strain into an ice-filled tumbler. Lush!

Available in 700ml & 350ml Bottles
Brighton Gin is available in regular 700ml bottles, as well as our handy 350ml midi bottle size, perfect for any number of cocktails. And for the perfect finish, why not serve our ginspiring cocktails in our Brighton Gin glasses!
