SPOOKY! Corpse Reviver No. 2

by Charly Thieme on 0 Comments

Happy Hallowe'en!

Corpse Revivers are a broad group of cocktails, numbered 1-4, with countless variants. Whilst it’s thought that some of the drinks under the Corpse Reviver umbrella were established in England in around the 1860s, they were not put down in published form until Harry Craddock wrote them up in his 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book.

We thought what better to serve for All Hallows Eve than the drink that was intended to help those feeling worse for wear to come back to life!

In BG tradition, we put a little twist on this spooky classic (which is, by the way, our founder Kathy's favourite cocktail - up there with a Negroni and and an Old fashioned). Instead of the classic lemon juice we are using lime juice as we use fresh lime peel in our distillation and always have fruit left over!

Ingredients

  • 25ml Brighton Gin Seaside Strength
  • 25ml fresh lime juice
  • 25ml dry vermouth
  • 25ml triple sec/Chartreuse
  • dash of absinthe

How to Make

Rinse a chilled couple/Nick & Nora glass with absinthe. Combine all other ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake with ice until well chilled. Strain into glass and garnish with a lime twist if desired.

Cheers!
