Bletchley 8000

by Charly Thieme on 0 Comments

Celebrating the 8000 women who worked as codebreakers at Bletchley Park during WWII! We hope they would have liked our Brighton Gin riff on the classic Southside cocktail.

As always, we are keen to reduce food waste, so the fruit juices for this recipe come from the limes and oranges whose peel we've used during our distillation. This also includes a recipe for homemade sugar syrup, it is SO easy and fast!

Ingredients

  • 50ml Brighton Gin Seaside Strength
  • 25ml fresh lime juice
  • 15ml fresh orange juice
  • 10ml sugar syrup (homemade! see below)
  • 6 mint leaves

How to Make

Shake all liquid ingredients and 5 mint leaves with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass. Add the 6th mint leave as decoration.

For a longer version, the Bletchley 8000 Fizz, simply add some soda water or even sparkling wine.

Make your own sugar syrup

Add sugar and hot/boiled water to a jar/bottle - 2:1 ratio (sugar:water). Stir to mix until the sugar has dissolved, let cool down/put in the fridge. Any sugar will do here (although we haven't tried icing sugar yet).

Enjoy!
